Welcome to the Fishing Report from Townsend, Tennessee in the Great Smoky Mountains. Warm and sunny is the forecast today. You may even start thinking about wet wading.
Today will be sunny. There is a chance of rain tomorrow and more on Saturday. Temperatures are going to cool after this weekend.
Water levels on Little River this morning is at 2.08 feet or 232 c.f.s. The daily normal is 261 c.f.s. The streams are flowing clear.
Water temperatures are up to 63F. As warm as the air is in the afternoon people are starting to think about wet wading.
Fishing has been good across the Smokies. We have been hearing very good reports. Dry flies have been working well. Light Cahills, Smoky Mountain Candy, Rob's Hellbender and Neversink Caddis are good choices.
Nymphs continue to produce well. Prince Nymphs, Pheasant Tails, Squirmy Worms and maybe even a Green Weenie. Fishing a dry / dropper set up can be very effective right now.
A slow computer and a bunch of fishing licenses has slowed the Report writing this morning. My final words for everyone. Fishing will be better than working today. If you have the chance sneak away and wet a line.
Have a great day and thank you for being here with us.
