Water temperatures are very warm, almost perfect for trout feeding activity.
Nymphs and streamers will probably work best for you.
The lowland rivers are flowing high and swift.
I checked several dams o the TVA website. TVA and the Corps of Engineers are discharging a lot of water through the tributary dams and those on the Tennessee River. They are generating heavily. Additionally, they are sluicing and spilling at some dams. I don’t see any trout tailwater fishing opportunities in our area today.
Tennessee Valley Authority announced 2018 and 2019 were the wettest years on record, in the Tennessee River basin. You can read more on the WTVC website by CLICKING HERE.
This year so far, 2020 is starting out with rainfall way above normal once again.
Don’t forget, Tic Smith and Joe Lock will be holding free fly tying demonstrations at the shop Saturday. Plan on being at the shop and enjoy your day indoors.
Have a great day and thank you for being here with us.
