Welcome to the Fishing Report from Townsend, Tennessee in the Great Smoky Mountains. At 5:18 am, the temperature outside is 54.5 degrees.
Showers are likely today but not expected to be heavy. The high temperature is predicted to be in the low 60’s dropping to the low 50’s tonight. It will be very warm tomorrow, in the low 70’s. Rain is possible in the afternoon.
Little River is flowing at 392 cubic feet per second (cfs) or 2.46 feet on the flow gauge. Median flow for this date is 393 cfs. The water temperature is 53.1 degrees this morning.
Most streams in the Smokies are flowing near normal. I did notice some are rising slowly.
Fishing is very good. Most anglers I talked to yesterday are using nymphs. I heard one customer say he was using a Pink Weenie and doing very well. Another came back in the day and bought more Tellico Nymphs. He said “The trout loved them and so did the trees”. I told him “Trees are particularly fond of Tellico Nymphs”.
Have a great day and thank you for being here with us.
